Hello everyone and welcome to summer! May went by in a flash. I was on vacation the first two weeks of May and the last two weeks were spent tearing molding drywall out of my basement apartment (it’s a long story). Since I’ve been so busy with home reno projects, I haven’t had much time to work on my Merch business. I really don’t think there’s much I can do right now anyways. I’ll get to that later on in this report. Here is my May 2025 Amazon Merch on Demand Income Report.
May 2025 Income Report
In May 2025, I made $58.40 with 14 sales and 3 returns for a total of 11 sales. I have 500 designs uploaded to 7,655 products. I sold 10 unique designs across 2 products in May – 13 standard t-shirts and 1 tote bag. The returns were standard t-shirts. I also only sold to the United States in May.
When it comes to advertising in May, I spent $41.56 (ouch!), made 5 sales and had an ACOS of 39.60% (double ouch!). I did some experimenting with my ads in May which is why the total money spent and the ACOS is higher. I was hoping to sell 5 designs that had never sold before by using advertising. It did not work out at all. None of the 5 shirts sold and I had to increase my cost per click higher than I was comfortable with to even get impressions, let alone clicks. When it comes to advertising, I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m thinking about turning off all my ads except my lottery campaign, however, I just lowered the CPC on all the campaigns so I’ll probably give them another week to see if I can get the ACOS down. If that doesn’t work, I’ll give up on individual ad campaigns. At least for now.
Total May Merch on Demand Income for April 2025: $16.84 ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Previous Month’s Earnings
April 2025: $22.87
March 2025: $38.30
February 2025: $39.99
January 2025: $68.80
My advertising costs really screwed me over in May. I made a good amount of sales compared to previous months but most of what I made was spent on ads. It’s another reason why I’m seriously considering giving up on ads.
What Did I Do In May?
As I mentioned, I created 5 new ad campaigns in May. These ad campaigns targeted 5 t-shirt designs that had never sold before. Since AMOD stated that they will base tier ups on the percentage of designs sold in the past year, I figured I need to start selling my non-selling designs. The only way I can think to do that is by advertising them. They clearly aren’t getting organic traffic and I really don’t want to spam my designs to my friends on social media. Advertising is pretty much the only way I can get traffic to my shirts. Unfortunately, it’s not going well.
Goals for June 2025
- Continue to tweak my ad campaigns and get my ACOS below 25%.
I really want to spend June working on KDP so I’m going to put Merch on the backburner for now. I’ll still mess with the ads and see if I can get them to be profitable. If not, I’ll turn them off. I’m still planning on implementing my marketing strategy eventually but I think I’m going to wait until I have more time to work on it. I’ve got lots of plans this summer so I’m not going to have a lot time to work on things. I would rather spend what little time I have working on stuff I know is successful like KDP and my Etsy store. I’ll probably reassess my AMOD business towards the end of July and into August so I can get ready for Q4.
