August 2025 – Amazon Merch On Demand Income Report

August was an interesting month. It was one of those months where I got a lot done, yet I didn’t get much done at all. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I got a lot done but it wasn’t any of the stuff I wanted to get done. Some examples are that I published a bunch of coloring books on KDP but I didn’t get any fall scrapbook paper pads published. I also updated the keywords on my Etsy listings but I didn’t get any new products listed and I didn’t get the social media templates made. I entered a ton of sweepstakes and won a bunch of great prizes but I completely ignored Merch On Demand. So, yeah, I got a lot done and yet I got nothing done that I wanted to get done. On that note, here’s my August 2025 Merch On Demand Income Report.

August 2025 Income Report

In August 2025, I made $44.80 with 11 sales and 2 returns. I have 500 designs uploaded to 3,913 products – down from 5,822 products last month. I sold 9 unique designs across 3 products in August – 8 standard t-shirts, 2 throw pillow and 1 tank top. The 2 returns were standard t-shirts. I only sold to the United States in August.

August 2025 Merch Income

For advertising in August, I spent $20.84, made 4 sales and had an ACOS of 25.13%. I’m really surprised that my advertising costs were so high. I turned off all ads except for my lottery campaign, yet I spent almost 30% more than I did the previous month. What’s worse is that I got the same number of sales despite spending an extra $6. I think I’m going to have to keep a really close eye on my advertising in September and quickly shut off any designs that are getting a lot of clicks but no sales.

August 2025 Merch Advertising

Total Merch on Demand Income for August 2025: $23.96

Previous Month’s Earnings

July: $56.78
June 2025: $27.73
May 2025: $16.84
April 2025: $22.87

August has typically been a slow month for me so I shouldn’t be surprised at the huge drop income. I still can’t help but be disappointed. I was sure that turning off the individual advertising campaigns would help give me a higher profit margin but it didn’t pan out in August. I guess we’ll see what happens in September. I’m going to try to keep closer tabs on my ads to try to stop the bleeding.

What Did I Do In August?

Absolutely nothing. I did watch a few YouTube videos and read a couple of blog posts about MOD that got me thinking about other things I could be doing.

Goals for September 2025

  • Research other POD opportunities and create a pro-con list of each

Until I can get tiered up, there’s pretty much nothing I can do for Merch On Demand. I recently read a blog post about someone having a lot of success with print on demand and Etsy. I’m interested in finding out if it would be worth it to open an Etsy store and sell my designs with a pod company. It could be a niche store and only sell designs in the niche I picked out for my marketing plan. I wouldn’t have to wait to be tiered up and I could list as many designs as I want. It’s more work than listing on Amazon but it might be worth it. My goal for September will be to research and discover 5-10 pod companies and create a pros and cons list for each. In fact, I might even make a post outlining my research so stay tuned!
