May 2025 – Amazon KDP Income Report

What a crazy start to June I’ve had! I had some internet problems and had to get a tech to come out to look at things. I ended up needing a new router and now my internet is faster than ever, which means I can get more work done on my businesses. First things first, I need to get my May income reports published. I hope you already saw the Merch on Demand income report that I posted a few days ago. That was a bit disappointing. I’m hoping that the May KDP report will give you a little optimism that I’m heading in the right direction.

May 2025 Income Report

In May 2025, I sold 217 books for a total income of $257.89. I got two books published in May. I started the month with 45 books in my bookshelf and ended the month with 47 books. My bookshelf contains 30 coloring books, 3 log books, 12 scrapbook paper pads and 2 journals. I sold 7 coloring books (61), 8 scrapbook paper pads (57), 3 log books (8) and 1 journal.

May 2025 KDP Revenue

Just like last month, my advertising campaign did well. Much better than my Merch advertising campaign. I spent just $28.62 and the ACOS was at a tick higher than April at 12.06%. That’s still a great ACOS! I had 283 clicks and 22 orders. My average cost per click was just $0.10 which was the same as last month. I wish I could figure out how to have this type of success on my AMOD advertising campaigns.

May 2025 KDP Advertising

Total Amazon KDP Income for May 2025: $229.27

Previous Month’s Earnings

April: $239.04
March 2025: $151.87
February 2025: $203.69
January 2025: $213.79

I’m still over $200 which is great. I think it’s crazy how I sold twice as many coloring books last month than I did this month, yet I still ended up with close to the same amount of earnings because my scrapbook paper pads started taking off. Now I’m not sure if I should be focusing more on the scrapbook paper pads or the coloring books. They are both doing great for me.

What Did I Do In May?

I published 2 new coloring books but neither of them has sold yet. I think I kind of messed them up. They are both in the same niche but one is a coloring book for kids and the other is a coloring book for adults. In the past, I combined them into “Niche Topic Coloring Book for Kids & Adults”. I really wish I hadn’t separated them and just made one book. It makes it easier for me to manage and potential buyers don’t have to try to choose if they want a kids coloring book or an adult coloring book as both books look similar. I guess we’ll find out in a few months if they start to sell or not.

Another thing I did in May is added A+ content to all of my coloring books. The only books I have that don’t have A+ content are my journals and log books.

Edit 6/7: I forgot to mention that I also increased the price of all of my books in May to $9.99 or more.

Goals for June 2025

  • Publish 15 books
  • Add A+ content to 2 journals

I really want to get more books published in June. I have 14 coloring books started and I plan on getting them finished and uploaded this month. Or at least I’m going to try to get them published. It will depend on how fast the review process takes.

My second goal is to get A+ content added to 2 of my journals. I think making A+ content for journals is going to be a lot harder than coloring books because people will want to see what the journals look like when they are being used or what they look like filled out. This means I’ll need to make some mockups of people using the journals which isn’t going to be easy. I think I can get the content made and added to two of the journals in June.

Overall, I think I had a very successful month in May. I had some surprises with which books sold but I’m very happy to see that my scrapbook paper pads are paying off. They are the easiest books to make and I’m definitely going to focus on publishing more of them in the next few months (after I get my backlog of coloring books published). I think my KDP income is going in the right direction and I have a feeling I’ll hit my KDP income goals before Merch or Etsy if things keep going the way they are going.
